What a great effect! I’d love to find a way to achieve this with photoshop. If only there were more hours in the day…

Detail of an antique Japanese textile. I totally get into stuff like this. Wow!

What I wore today. More on that later.
I love, love, love this image but I can’t for the life of me find the original source. Please let me know if you have any info about this image.
I love anything with fringe. Not as a rule or anything, it just happens. I’m currently on the hunt for a vintage piano shawl. (Karen Elson by Kate Elson for Nylon Mag June July 2010 via Fashion Gone Rogue).

Today I spent most of the day at my studio shooting new items for the shop & reshooting inventory in the new space. Some of you know that I moved my business to a studio space a couple of months ago (I’m legit!). It’s been amazing to be able to shoot photos without having to worry about shadows, wind, rain, & other weather related inconveniences. I was previously shooting photos outside of my house. During the winter I had to race outside in between (freezing, arctic) rain showers to shoot new items. Inevitably gusts of frozen wind from the tundra would blast me as I tried to look natural. That is to say nothing of shooting pics in the dreaded summer heat. It’s like death valley out there, man. In short, it sucked. I remember the day a new neighbor moved in & I was standing outside photographing myself in a lion jacket. He came up & was like, “uh…hi?”. As much as it amused my neighbors to see me outside photographing myself in all kinds of wacky getups, I’m glad for the new opportunity.
Anyway, so today I wore a vintage skirt & blouse that is made out of this amazing nubby woven silk. I love the fringe hem. Of course, I wore my Jeffrey Campbell Charli clogs. They are my go-to shoe & they seem to look great with just about everything. I’m also wearing a vintage lion necklace by Razza, vintage wood & bone hinged bracelets, & a leather cinch belt that I found at a thrift shop.
I hope you all are having a wonderful day! It’s about time for me to fire up the barbecue. Thanks for stopping by!
