It was like five degrees here when we left the house this morning. (Ok, it was actually 35 degrees, but that’s close enough). Boot weather has officially arrived! These stovepipe boots are vintage & I added the harness from my Jeffrey Campbell Nation boots. The thigh high stockings are from American Apparel & they are super thick & cozy. Highly recommended for layering over leggings or tights during these freezing cold months.
I have this idea to make leg warmers out of the sleeves of thrifted sweaters. I hate to tear up a perfectly good sweater, but wouldn’t that be cute? I could zip them through my overlock machine to make them tight to the leg so they could be slipped into a tall boot. What do you think? Is it wasteful? Distasteful? Brilliant? Other?
The alpaca cardigan sweater is also vintage. I bought it to sell in my shop but then I noticed that all of the buttons were different. By the time I buy replacement buttons & spend the time sewing them on, my profit is gone so I think I’ll keep this one. In any case, it is probably one of the warmest things I have in my wardrobe. I am utterly unprepared for super cold weather & I refuse to wear ski gear as an everyday outfit.
Vintage cardigan, American Apparel tunic dress, Hue tights, American Apparel thigh high stockings, vintage boots, Forever 21 floppy felt hat.
As a side note, I listed a bunch of cute new things in the shop today. Come by & take a look!
